PHILOSOPHY

"I CREATE GARMENTS THAT AIM TO COMMUNICATE THE FEELING OF SELF EMPOWERMENT. CLOTHING IS A DIRECT EXTENSION OF THE HUMAN BODY, ENABLING OR DISABLING THE WEARER DEPENDING ON HOW THE CLOTHES ARE DESIGNED AND MADE.
IN MY OPINION GARMENTS CAN INCREASE THE CAPABILITY OF HUMANS THROUGH A CROSSOVER OF TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN.
MY OWN APPROACH TO DESIGN IS VERY CONCEPTUAL, USUALLY STARTING AT THE ROOT OF A PROBLEM I WISH TO SOLVE. THESE PROBLEMS CAN HAVE THEIR ROOTS IN SOCIAL SITUATIONS, ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS OR PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT NEEDS. ALL MY DESIGN WORK IS AIMED AT GAINING INSIGHT AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE CROSS PLAY BETWEEN HIGH FUNCTIONALITY IN TERMS OF CUTS AND MATERIAL TECHNOLOGY, ADVANCED SYSTEM DESIGN WITH EMPHASISE ON PSYCHOLOGY AND KINESIOLOGY WITH A HEIGHTENED FOCUS ON USE CASE AND PROBLEM SOLVING." - Jan-Philipp Kosfeld (2019)
